Lovett/Codagnone

Lovett/Codagnone’s collaboration explores relations of power via performative, filmic, and discrete work that uses explicit cultural signifiers—as well as clandestine and unconscious practices—to distill complex human dynamics. They have been working together since 1995, and they have exhibited at, among other venues, the ICA in Boston; the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in Turin; Performa in New York; the Museum Ludwig in Cologne; Galleria Emi Fontana in Milan; the De Appel Centre for Contemporary Art in Amsterdam; the Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center in Istanbul; the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst in Berlin; the Palais de Tokyo in Paris; and the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art in Riga. A monograph, Lovett/Codagnone, was published by Charta in 2006. John Lovett and Alessandro Codagnone live and work in New York.
